Homeopathy for Pets
While homeopathy for humans is gaining in popularity owing to its gentle effectiveness and its harmlessness, homeopathy for pets is still relatively unknown. Here are a few conditions which homeopathy treats admirably in animals. There is absolutely no reason not to treat your pet to this highly effective and completely nontoxic modality. You will likely be pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive the remedies and how easy it is to get your pet to take his dose!
Arnica Use this remedy for traumatic injuries such as sprains, bruises and strains and shock. Reach for this remedy after that dog fight, when it is obvious that the animal is sore and sensitive. Use arnica also for tooth extractions and before and after your bitch gives birth. It reduces swelling and pain. Surgical procedures go much better when you administer arnica both before and after the surgery. Remember sports animals – race horses, greyhounds, show dogs and cats can benefit from arnica, as well as their owners! Reach for this wonderful remedy when you have overused your muscles or have injured yourself in any way, including broken bones. Aconite Used primarily for fears. Fever is associated with fear and the symptoms usually appear suddenly. Red, inflamed eyes, discharge, ears that become hot and swollen, even red. The nose may be bleeding and signs of a sore throat. The abdomen may be painful and the animal may vomit. Give aconite for a hoarse cough, and with a leaping pulse and rapid heartbeat. If you pet has been exposed to a dry, cold wind before the onset of symptoms, give aconite. Give this remedy first if any of these keywords fit: Surgical operation, shock, trauma, injury, tension, either mental or physical tension, and especially fear. Use aconite for a pet that has been struck by a car, which is certainly an acute condition of sudden onset. Any bleeding and painful injury is well treated by aconite. Called a polycrest remedy because it treats a wide variety of problems, aconite is called for in asthma, headache, anger, hip-joint problems, numbness, pleurisy, pregnancy, Hodgkin’s disease, vaccinations, numbness, and vertigo. Because aconite is so quick acting, it is great for acute cases. |
